In the 1970s, the adaptation was made by Mate Relja and immediately became a Croatian cinema classic.

The Cinecarril Festival Project was born in 2021, by a group from CIDEHUS - University of Évora, within the scope of the celebrations of the "European Year of Rail Transport". It is based on the realization of monthly cinema sessions, with the collaboration of experts in the fields of cinema and Railway Heritage.
